The Process

Read through this before ordering or asking questions if you are new to ordering cookies from a home-based Cookier. If you have additional questions, please review the FAQ's before contacting me.

01.

Review this page & FAQ's

Please make sure you read all the information here and in the FAQ's before you either email me or submit your order request.

02.

Submit an order request

To start the order process, you need to submit an order request form, which will describe all the necessary details needed to determine if there is availability on the calendar.

Once you hit submit, I will receive an email with your form answers and I will reply to you via the email provided, so please ensure accuracy of the information submitted, especially the email address.  I aim to reply to you within a few minutes to hours, but no more than 24 hours.  If you submit a request on the weekend however, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, the reply may be delayed as these are busy order completion, pick up and family days, so please be understanding of this and allow the extended response times on the weekends.

03.

Place the final order

In my reply to your order request, after all questions are answered between each of us, I will send you a link that you can click/tap to take you to the appropriate screen on the website to place your order.

This link will be valid for at least 24 hours after receiving it.

Due to the nature of the products, small batch, homemade, custom cookies, I do not carry stock on hand and therefore keep all product listings marked as out of stock.  This is done also because you must confirm if I have availability for your order on my calendar.  If you were to order without talking to me and I am fully booked, I will have to issue you a refund.

If I have sent you a link and it is still showing out of stock, either I have not updated the listing yet or you waited longer to place your order.  As orders come in, they may overlap with yours so quantities and in stock items may be changed before you get to it, so it is advisable to click the link I sent the same day, as soon as possible, to finalize your order.

Please note: Your order will not be placed on my calendar and considered an order until it has been paid.  If you did not receive an email confirmation, showing your order was received, then the payment did not go through, and I was not notified that you placed an order and therefore will not be placed on my calendar.

If the item you are trying to purchase is out of stock and I've already talked with you and confirmed availability, please click on "Notify when available" and I will get a back in stock request email from you and I will update the item to your specifications and notify you to refresh your browser and try again.

04.

Email extra details if needed

We will have a conversation before and after you place the order for any final details on your order specifications.  After ordering, there won't be much conversation until the week prior to confirm if there are any changes or additions to the designs, date or time.  If I don't have any questions, I will just proceed to work on your order as discussed on prior communications, so there may not be any conversation again until the day or two before the agreed upon pick up date, so please don't be concerned if you don't hear from me for a while.  If you have a concern or just want to check in, you're welcome to shoot me a quick email.

05.

Confirm pick up day and time

A day or two prior to the agreed upon pick up day, I will email to confirm a time for the actual pick up and that the day is still good and not changed. If your day has changed and you have not notified me by this point, I will most likely not be able to fulfill that request.

Pickup times do not have to be an exact time, unless you ordered a cookie cake, which due to the buttercream it is not as weather stable, and we'll need to make a more specific time for that, but still within maybe 10-15 minutes, unless it's very hot on that day. Since royal icing dries hard however, it can withstand hot and cold temperatures for extended periods of time, which allows us more flexibility in pick up times. We just need to know the earliest you might pick up and then after that, they will be available to pick up at your convenience.  We do appreciate when you come close to those times though as we work feverishly to make it by the time you requested and would be able to finish final details more precisely if we knew we had even a few minutes longer.

As you'll see on the order request form, I will also ask you what the latest time is you can pick up to know how much flexibility I have with that timing.  If you tell me you want to pick up, say at 2:30 in the afternoon the day before your party, but could also pick up at 6:00 pm or even 9:00 am on the morning of the party, that is extremely helpful for me. Many times, I will have multiple orders due at similar times and knowing that I have until the next morning, or can space each order out a few hours, could mean the difference in me being able to sleep that night or not, or go to dinner with my family or not.

Can I arrive early for my pickup?  No.

Please do not come earlier than your designated pickup time.  It is highly likely that they will not be available yet and if we hear from you that you are going to be early, or you arrive early and ring the doorbell, this puts us in a terrible panic mode. As mentioned, we may be working on another order that has an earlier pick up than yours and need every minute given to complete your order.
However, it is likely that I will contact you earlier in the day of your pickup to let you know that they are already available, and then you would be able to come anytime after I have notified you of that.

06.

Pick up day

It's important to contact me, if you have not heard from me yet on pick up day, before you head out for pick up.  We will just want to confirm your arrival time to be sure the order is out on the pick up stand by then.

When you arrive for pick up, your cookies will be on a pick up stand out front on the porch.  The order will be in a box or bag with your name on it.
There is no need to ring the bell or knock to let us know you have arrived.  Please just take your order and head out as with any other porch pick up item. It's highly likely I have not slept the night before and have not yet been able to make myself presentable to greet you. If I am available to step out and greet you, however, I may do that as well.

If you would like to leave a tip, you are welcome to leave it in an envelope under the front mat and send me an email letting me know it is there, so it's not missed. The website platform I currently use does not allow for tipping as an option, but will be added if it becomes available.

If you'd like to tip via PayPal, you can do that, but please choose the friends and family option so we are not taxed for that as well. The PayPal handle is  https://paypal.me/thecookiedarling

Pick up is in Thornton, Colorado only, near 136th and Quebec.  For security reasons, the exact address will be given to you directly from me via email after your ordered is paid.
